Johann Bernhard Quistorp

Johann Bernhard Quistorp (born August 14, 1692 in Rostock ; † December 8, 1761 there ) was a German doctor.

Life

Johann Bernhard Quistorp was the first child of the Rostock pharmacist Balthasar Quistorp and his wife Maria Elisabeth, née Krück. He attended grammar school in Güstrow and then studied medical science for five years in Rostock, and later two years in Leipzig. In 1718 he received his doctorate .

Quistorp practiced as a doctor in Rostock until he received a full professorship at Rostock University in 1743 . In 1744/45, 1750/51 and 1756/57 Johann Bernhard Quistorp was elected rector.

Quistorp was married to Anna Margaretha Goltermann († 1762), the daughter of a Rostock businessman and councilor. They had two sons together. Johann Georg (1731–1760) became a theologian in Rostock and Johann Christian (1737–1795) became a lawyer in Wismar and in 1792 was ennobled.
