Joachim Henkel

Joachim Henkel (* 1965 ) is a German economist and lecturer at the Technical University of Munich .

Live and act

Henkel studied physics and mathematics at the University of Bochum . In 1988 he moved to the University of Bonn , where he obtained his diploma in physics in 1991. He then became a research assistant for Klaus Dietz at his chair in physics in Bonn. In 1993 he began studying business administration at the Fernuniversität in Hagen and at the same time studied allocation to financial and goods markets at the University of Mannheim as a scholarship holder of the postgraduate program . He completed his correspondence course in 1996, and a year later he also finished his studies at the University of Mannheim. In 1997 he was at the University of Mannheim with that of Konrad steel supervised font locations, Nachfrageexternalitäten and price announcements for Dr. rer. pole. PhD. Subsequently, Henkel worked at Bain & Company until 1999 . In 1999 he returned to his academic career and became a scientific assistant to Dietmar Harhoff at the Institute for Innovation Research, Technology Management and Entrepreneurship at the University of Munich . After a research stay at the MIT Sloan School of Management , Henkel completed his habilitation in business administration at the University of Munich in 2004. After teaching at the Leipzig Graduate School of Management , he joined the Dr. Theo Schöller Endowed Professorship for Technology and Innovation Management at the Technical University of Munich, which he has held since then.

Henkel’s research focuses primarily on technology acquisitions, digitization, open and user innovation and patent management.
