Joachim Périon (* 1499 in Cormery , † 1559 in Cormery) was a French Benedictine who distinguished himself as a scholar in the field of philology (Graecist, Latinist, Romanist ).

Périon was a Benedictine monk in the Abbey of Saint-Paul de Cormery and a doctor of theology (1542).

Périon translated Aristotle from ancient Greek into Latin.

In Romance studies, Périon is known for his Latin book about the origin of French, published in 1555, which was reissued in 2003 with a French translation. Périon advocates the thesis of the origin of French from ancient Greek.
