Joachim Pöltl

Joachim Pöltl (born September 6, 1953 in Eppingen ) is a German horn player and professor at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf .

Life

Pöltl studied with Karl Arnold at the Musikhochschulen in Karlsruhe and Heidelberg . He then studied privately with Erich Penzel in Cologne.

He was engaged with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra , the Siegerland Orchestra in Hilchenbach , the Darmstadt State Theater and the Gürzenich Orchestra of the City of Cologne. Since 1982 member of the WDR Cologne Symphony Orchestra. He also took part in the Montreux Jazz Festival with the WDR Big Band . Joachim Pöltl has been Professor of Horn at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf since 1998 .

From 1993 to 1999 he directed the Neuhonrath Wind Orchestra (two years of which was the junior orchestra ).

Pöltl has recorded numerous CD productions together with the Consortium Classicum . Since 1985 he has also been involved in the construction of mutes for brass instruments.
