Joachim Rehork (* 1930 in Pethau ) is a German non-fiction author and translator.

Joachim Rehork first studied music at the Musikhochschule and from 1954 classical philology , ancient history and Byzantine studies at the Free University of Berlin . His most important academic teacher was Franz Altheim . In 1964 he received his doctorate with a dissertation on the subject of the report of deeds and poetic rulers' committee in the Augustan time . During his studies, he worked as a freelance publisher and worked on Altheim's works. After graduating, he worked as a freelance writer and translator. He wrote several books of his own, mostly on cultural-historical and archaeological topics, and translated a three-digit number of foreign language scripts. In addition, he edits books and works as an editor. Rehork is best known for his translation and expansion of Glyn Daniel's Encyclopedia of Archeology , which was published several times in Germany alone.
