Joachim Treu

Achim Treu is a German musician , music producer and composer . Treu, who also calls himself “Künstler Treu”, was part of the German tape offender scene.

life and work

He published self-made tapes with experimental music on his cassette label. He lives in Berlin . In 1985 he founded the band Dauerfisch and released several records on the Berlin label Bungalow in the 1990s . In 1997 Treu released various albums under the name "Künstler Treu" on the Cologne electronics label Eleganz . A collaboration with synthesizer pioneer Jon Appleton was released in 2003 on Crippled Dick Hot Wax under the name "Wunderbra!"

From 2003 to 2005 Treu was guitarist for the Berlin group Mutter . From 2004 to 2007 he was a member of Der Plan . 2006–2018 he moderated the “UFO Hawaii Radioshow” on byte.fm. Treu has been producing under the name UFO Hawaii since 2012 . He is responsible for film music a. a. für Heimatkunde and Die PARTTEI . Treu played remixes a. a. for Peter Thomas , Fantastic Plastic Machine , Peter Licht , Mark Stewart , Princess Superstar and Dutchess Says .
