Joan Crosby

Joan Crosby - born Joan Brock - is a former English table tennis player . At the 1949 World Cup , she won silver in doubles and with the team.

Career

Joan Crosby took part in the 1949 World Cup. Here she won two silver medals. With the English women's team she lost to the USA in the final. The doubles with Pinkie Barnes finished second after a victory in the semifinals over the Hungarians Rozsi Karpati / Erzsebet Mezei and a final defeat against the Hungarian-Scottish couple Gizella Farkas / Helen Elliot .

In the same year she won the Open Dutch Championships in doubles with Pinkie Barnes and mixed with Ronald Sharman.

Joan Crosby has a daughter, Jill Crosby, who has enjoyed success in local table tennis tournaments.
