Jobst tie

Jobst Riegel (born March 28, 1821 in Nuremberg , † January 17, 1878 in Munich ) was a German engraver and painter .

Life

Jobst Riegel learned his trade at an art school and in the studio of the copper engraver Johann Poppel . He made plates with landscapes and cityscapes for several books. On behalf of the Bavarian King Ludwig II, he painted various watercolors. From 1846 until his death in 1878 he lived in Munich.
