Jochen Großmann (* 1958 in Dresden ) is a German entrepreneur and business manager and from 2006 to 2015 honorary professor at the BTU Cottbus and the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg .

Life

Großmann studied thermal and hydraulic mechanical engineering and information processing at the TU Dresden from 1978 to 1982 and received his doctorate in 1985 as Dr.-Ing. in the field of automation of nuclear power plants. In 1989 he completed his habilitation on the complex energetic and ecological evaluation of process engineering processes. Großmann was a co-founder of Großmann & Partner GmbH, which was founded in 1990 . After leaving the company in 1994, he founded Gicon Großmann Ingenieur Consult GmbH . As managing partner, he was significantly involved in the remediation of contaminated sites in eastern Germany, the research and testing of new biogas processes and the development of the first floating offshore foundation for wind turbines in Germany ( GICON - SOF ). From 2000 he worked as a lecturer at the BTU Cottbus. In 2006 the university awarded him an honorary professorship for management of environmental and renovation projects for “outstanding services to the BTU Cottbus”. At the end of January 2015, he gave back the honorary professorship.

In April 2013, Hartmut Mehdorn initially entrusted Großmann with the management of the smoke extraction system at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) and was in the meantime responsible for the entire planning coordination of BER. He was dismissed without notice on June 4, 2014 due to allegations of corruption . In October 2014 he was sentenced to one year probation and payment of 200,000 euros for bribery and fraud . Grossmann accepted the penalty order. Another legal battle was avoided. Until 2019, five years after the conviction, Großmann was not allowed to pursue any entrepreneurial activities.

As part of his other engineering activities, Großmann was appointed visiting professor at the Szewalski Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IMP PAN) in 2017 for the field of "System of physical aspects of eco-energy". Since January 2020 he has been Chairman of the Executive Board of the Gicon Group, a group of companies comprising several independently operating engineering service providers.

Großmann is privately committed to the association Rollimaus eV - an association from Dresden that takes care of physically handicapped and chronically ill children.
