Jochen Höller

Jochen Höller (* 1977 in Amstetten , Lower Austria) is an Austrian artist.

life and work

The artist Jochen Höller, who comes from Lower Austria, deals in his works with elementary topics from society, technology, religion and culture.

After studying sculpture at the University of Art in Linz , Höller turned completely to working with paper.

In 2008, Höller took part in the state exhibition Resistance in the Salzkammergut . His contribution to the Portrait exhibition in Berlin's GAS-station 2009 was rated as the "silent highlight of the show".

In 2011, he received 3rd place in the Walter Koschatzky Art Prize for his work “Gerhard Roth - From the perspective of the brain” . In the same year he was able to work with Ludwig Wittgenstein, Tlp. 2.01231 realize his first solo exhibition abroad in the Saarland Künstlerhaus in Saarbrücken .

Also in 2011, Höller contributed to the exhibition Doppelganger - Literature and Fine Arts in the Bonn Artists' Forum . In 2012 he was represented in the Kunstraum Niederösterreich. Höller took part in the Viennafair 2013 with the support of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Art and Culture . In the same year, Höller was nominated for the Strabag Art Award International. In 2014, Höller took part in the multinational exhibition The Dignity of Mankind , which is shown successively in Vienna, Sarajevo and Brno . In 2014, Höller received a scholarship at the Omi International Arts Center in the USA.

Höller has presented his works at over 40 national and international exhibitions and art fairs.

Höller lives and works in Vienna.
