Jochen Maassen

Jochen Maassen (also Maassen , * 3. November 1953 in Grevenbroich ) is a former German hockey player .

Career

Jochen Maassen began with ice hockey at the then largest ice hockey club in Cologne, the Cologne Ice Club (KEK). There he went through all youth teams as a defender and in 1969 had his first appearances for the professional team, which was playing in the Bundesliga for the first time at that time . However, they rose again in the 1969/70 season and played until 1972 in the league , the second highest division at the time. In 1972 Maassen was one of the founders of the Cologne EC - "Die Haie" (KEC), which was founded out of the ice hockey department that was split off from the KEK. Already in the first season of the new club he reached the league championship with the Haien and the associated promotion to the Bundesliga. Maassen was a member of the team there until 1976. He then played for a few years for Duisburger SC and Neusser SC in the league. He ended his active career in 1983 after two more years at SC Condor Hamburg .
