Jochen Schimmelschmidt

Jochen Schimmelschmidt (born February 10, 1960 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German composer. The focus of his artistic work is on the composition of musicals and orchestral works for children.

Life

He studied instrumental and vocal pedagogy at the Frankfurt University of Music with a major in piano. After graduating, he founded the Oberursel Music School with colleagues in 1988, but a few years later he went into business for himself.

Working with children's choirs was added to piano lessons and early musical education in 1994, and with it the decision to produce children's musicals.

Since 2000, in collaboration with Dagmar Scherf, six joint musicals have been created, which are published by the Deutsches Theaterverlag. Since 2007 he has also composed works for children's orchestras that have not yet been published. There are also compositions for piano as well as piano and violin.
