Joe Cartoon is a website that became famous for macabre Flash animated cartoons.

The website was founded by Joe Shields , who initially only made a single Flash animation available for download: the Frogblender (a frog in a mixer). This quickly achieved cult status among Internet users and by April 1999 more than 400,000 users had downloaded the animation. After the great success, more animations were quickly offered for download. For example the gerbil in the microwave or the leaping lemmings on the precipice.

In 2006, a DVD containing around 40 of his cartoons was released in North America and Germany . These were recoded so that the DVD could also be played on normal DVD players. In addition, exclusive material was created for the DVD.
