Joseph Daniel "Joe" Kaylor (born July 6, 1916 in New York City , † February 20, 1999 there ) was an American handball player .

life and career

Joe Kaylor was born in New York City in 1916 to Daniel Kaylor and Annie. Scanlon born; he was one of ten siblings. He took part in the Second World War as a Private First Class (PFC). In 1947 he married Mary McWilliams and the couple had five children. As a boxer , the 178 cm tall and 75 kg heavy Kaylor was nicknamed "KO" in the 1930s. His main job was as a bricklayer .

Kaylor was a club member of the German Sport Club in his hometown. With the US national team he took part in the Olympic field handball tournament in 1936 and was used in all three games against Hungary (2: 7), Germany (1:29) and Romania (3:10). In the game against Germany Kaylor scored the consolation goal for the Americans.
