Joel Haahtela 2010

Joel Kauko Kallevi Haahtela (born September 10, 1972 in Helsinki , Finland ) is a Finnish psychiatrist and author .

Life

Haahtela worked in his hometown from 1999 to 2003 at the university hospital (HUS), then from 2003 to 2005 at the local central hospital. He has been working at Jorvin Hospital in Helsinki since 2005.

Of Haahtela's ten works published so far, three have been translated into German by Sandra Doyen . He lives west of Helsinki in Kirkkonummi .

Prizes and awards

  • 2002: Olvi Prize from his novel Tule ristykseen seitsemälta from the same year.
  • 2003: nomination for the Finlandia Prize for Elena from the same year.
  • 2007: Nomination for the Runeberg Prize for Perhoskerääjä from 2006.
  • 2010: Nomination for the Finlandia Prize for Katoamispiste from the same year.
