Joerg Eyfferth (born January 14, 1957 in Witzenhausen ) is a German artist and painter .

Life

Joerg Eyfferth was born in Witzenhausen in Northern Hesse. The parents were Jürgen Eyfferth and Krista Eyfferth (née Kratz). The father was a trained photolithographer and lived briefly in Hanau until the family settled in Frankfurt / Main. Joerg Eyfferth spent the first two years of his life in Frankfurt, after which the family moved to Hamburg for professional reasons. After leaving school, he trained as an electronics technician and then trained as a lithographer.

Eyfferth then worked in his father's company, from repro photography to lithography to manual proofing. He later took over the company; In the course of the associated modernization, he came into contact with electronic image processing.

Since 1982 Eyfferth has been intensively concerned with the further development of his painting skills and the autodidactic study of art history. Since 1993 he has been working as a freelance artist; he lives in Hanau . He has been exhibiting his works since 1994. In 1997 Eyfferth received the Cläre Roeder Münch Prize of the city of Hanau, endowed with DM 10,000, from the then Hanau Head of Culture, Klaus Remer. An exhibition in the museum of Schloss Philippsruhe was associated with this award. In the same year he took part in Art Cologne .

In 2006 he received the Main-Kinzig-Kreis culture award for outstanding artistic achievements. Since 2008 he has been working at the technical college for design at the Eugen Kaiser School. Eyfferth has been chairman of the Hanauer Kulturverein since 2009. In 2011 he was awarded the 2nd prize of the Art Prize of the Sparkasse Karlsruhe Foundation.

Joerg Eyfferth deals with the still life . He reduces the composition to what is essential for him. Shiny, reflective surfaces and glass form the starting point for his picture arrangements. The objects shown appear against an undefined background. Joerg Eyfferth is interested in the refraction of light in its diverse colors and mirror surfaces with their distortions.
