Historic Johann Adams mill with country inn

The Johann-Adams-Mühle is a historic mill in Theley . It is about ten minutes away from it. The mill is considered to be one of the last remaining mill properties in Saarland with a medieval grinding room. It was first mentioned in writing in 1589. Today's mill buildings with the single-storey, thatched half-timbered building and a raised mill wheel go back to 1735. The mill used to be a power mill in which each villager had to grind his grain. At the beginning of the 20th century, the millers at that time no longer ran their business and the mill gradually fell into disrepair. In 1983 the municipality of Tholey acquired the Johann-Adams-Mühle and restored it true to the original.

The restoration work was completed in 1995, and the mill ensemble has been in its original condition since then. A mill museum has been set up in the main building, and the millstone of the Bosen mill is also located here . The former small animal stable is used as a venue for numerous cultural and social events. There is a country restaurant in the former residential building. The bread baking courses, which are offered from April to October, are a special offer.
