Johann Alemann

Johann Alemann (* 4th March July / 14th March  1618 greg. In Dresden ; † 7 October July / 17 October  1688 greg. Ibid) was a German lawyer and electoral Saxon mountain ridge who worked in the service of Elector Johann Georg II . stood.

Life

Alemann was born on March 4, 1618 as the son of the Electoral Saxon chancellery relative Friedrich Alemann (* January 4, 1582, † April 7, 1632 in Dresden) in Dresden. His grandfather was the mayor of Magdeburg , Hans Moritz Alemann . When his father died, Johann Alemann was only four years old. So he grew up for a few years with his step-grandfather, the Saxon mint master Heinrich von Rehn . In 1634 his widowed mother married Magnus Lebzelter, a member of the Electorate of Saxony, in whose family Johann Alemann now lived. In 1635 Alemann went to the University of Wittenberg and Altdorf , where he studied law until 1646. The course was interrupted by several internships in Dresden. In 1647 he received his doctorate. iur. In 1649 he married Sophia Strauch, the daughter of the theologian Aegidius Strauch I. The son Johann Aegidius Alemann (1655-1719) became director of mining in Electoral Saxony.

On October 22nd, 1662 Johann Alemann was appointed Bergrat of Elector Johann Georg II of Saxony. In this role he earned lasting services in the Electorate of Saxony . Due to illness, he asked for his dismissal in 1667, which was granted to him while retaining his Bergrat title.

On October 14, 1688, he was solemnly buried in the Frauenkirche in Dresden.
