Johann August Beyer , 1786 von Beyer , (* 1730 in Halberstadt , † September 14, 1814 in Berlin ) was a German civil servant and poet.

His parents were Johann Albert Beyer († 1750) and his wife Johanna Dorothea Dieterich. His brother August Friedrich Carl von Beyer (* October 6, 1744; † April 23, 1819) was President of the Prussian government, his brother Friedrich Eberhard Georg von Beyer was chief finance officer.

Johann August Beyer worked as a war and domain councilor in Halberstadt and went to Berlin in 1766 as a secret senior finance, war and domain councilor. He was also the President of the Board of Supervisors and the first director of the Law Commission. On October 5, 1786, he was ennobled together with his brothers .

Beyer published two collections of poetry anonymously in 1756: "Little Songs" and "Mixed Poetry". He was friends with Gleim and dedicated his first volume of poetry to him.

He was married to a Dieterich. His daughter Luise married the Rittmeister Wilhelm Heinrich Franz Rimpert von Pieper and, after his death, Hermann Heinrich von Wylich and Lottum (* September 24, 1797 - November 9, 1859), a son of General Carl Friedrich Heinrich von Wylich and Lottum .
