Johann Burgmann (painter)
Johann Burgmann (* in St. Georgen (); unknown;? † 1824 / 25 ? () In St. Georgen or Lüsen ) was a Tyrolean painter .
Burgmann was a student of Elias Prunner and mainly created depictions of saints for South Tyrolean churches. A large part of the cobweb pictures that have survived today come from Burgmann , in which a painting surface made of caterpillar webs was used. He mainly made them as watercolors . Sometimes Burgmann provided his work with a spider as a sign, but signed works are also known.
