Johann Christian von Zerssen
Johann Christian von Zerssen (* 1813 in Eckernförde ; † May 16, 1865 ) was a Schleswig-Holstein merchant. In 1839 he was the namesake and co-founder of the Zerssen shipping company .
On January 1st, 1839, together with Johann Paap , he founded the company Zerssen & Co., brokerage, freight forwarding and shipping company . Also in 1839 Zerssen married Catharina Paap, a niece of Johann Paap, and became a citizen of Rendsburg .
In 1842 he was appointed consul of Belgium and in 1853 consul of the Netherlands .
Von Zerssen had a daughter named Maria Catharina Friedericia (born September 28, 1841 in Rendsburg; † 1913 there), who married the businessman Thomas Johann Gottfried Hollesen .
