Johann Christoph (Hohenzollern-Haigerloch)
Johann Christoph von Hohenzollern-Haigerloch (* 1586 in Haigerloch ; † 1620 there ) was the second Count of Hohenzollern-Haigerloch .
Life
Johann Christoph was the eldest son of Count Christoph von Hohenzollern-Haigerloch from his marriage to Katharina († after 1608), daughter of Baron Christoph von Welsperg. When his father died as a minor, his uncles Eitel Friedrich von Hohenzollern-Hechingen and Karl von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen took over the guardianship.
In the imperial military service he lived primarily in Vienna . Johann Christoph married Marie (1592–1658) in Sigmaringen in 1608 , daughter of Count Karl II of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen . The marriage remained childless. Johann Christoph acquired the Haag-Schlössle in Haigerloch in 1612, where his widow later lived. The construction of the castle church and the high altar, which his father had begun, was completed under his reign; the consecration took place in 1609.
At the beginning of the Thirty Years War in 1618 he was elected commander of Hohenzollern Castle . His brother Karl followed him as Count of Hohenzollern-Haigerloch .
