from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Johann Christoph Grube (* 1749 in Lübeck ; † May 9, 1824 there ) was a merchant and councilor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

As a merchant, Johann Christoph Grube was a member of the Schonenfahrer in Lübeck and was elected to the Lübeck Council as their senior man in 1804 . During the French period in Lübeck , he was appointed a member of the municipal council. Because of bankruptcy he had to resign from all public offices in 1812. His entire wine warehouse had fallen victim to the contributions to be made to France. He was therefore unable to participate in the reconstitution of the Lübeck Council in April 1813.
