Johann Dargetzow († around 1396) was mayor of the Hanseatic city of Wismar .

Life

Johann Dargetzow the Younger, perhaps the older son, named 1360, councilor since November 20, 1369, since 1370 also provisional at the Nikolaikirche . He represented Wismar since 1371 at the Hanseatic Days , for example at the conclusion with King Waldemar of Denmark , in 1373 in the Lüneburg inheritance negotiations . On May 11, 1374 he became mayor of the city and had great influence in the Hanseatic League . He represented Wismar in 1381 on Schonen as the city's only envoy in piracy matters and in 1386 in Lübeck. In 1384, together with the three other mayors of the city, he gave the council notary Heinrich von Balse the order to create a Chronica nova Wismariensis , but he did not complete this chronicle. Johann Dargetzow was last recorded on May 11, 1396 and will have died soon after.
