Johann Diedrich Allerheiligen

Johann Diedrich Allerheiligen (born October 8, 1875 in Sudweyhe ; † May 2, 1937 in Bremen ) was a German businessman, politician ( DDP ) and senator in Bremen.

biography

Allerheiligen completed a commercial apprenticeship in Bremen after attending primary school. In 1901 he opened in the New Town ( Neustadt Contrescarpe a) grocery store . He was a member of the board and then chairman of the colonial goods retailers' purchasing cooperative , founded in 1902, EdK Großhandels eGmbH in Bremen, which joined the Association of German Commercial Cooperatives in 1907 and had the brand name Edeka since 1911 .

After the First World War , Allerheiligen joined the German Democratic Party (DDP) in 1920. On June 6, 1920 he was elected to the Bremen citizenship . On January 30, 1925, he became a Bremen Senator . Among other things, he was chairman of the Bremen deputation for construction and urban expansion. In this position he gained an important influence on urban planning and traffic routeing in Bremen in the 1920s. On March 16, 1933, Mayor Martin Donandt , Allerheiligen and the remaining democratic senators had to resign under pressure from the National Socialists .

Honors

The Senator-Allerheiligen street in Bremen- Woltmershausen was named after him.
