Johann Eichinger

Johann Eichinger (born May 14, 1886 in Hetzmannsdorf ; † April 16, 1967 there ) was an Austrian politician ( CS / VF / ÖVP ) and farmer. He was a member of the National Council from 1930 to 1934 and from 1945 to 1949 .

Life

Eichinger attended the agricultural school in Edthof after completing elementary and community school and subsequently worked as a farmer. He took over his parents' farm and was also a director of the Vienna dairy from 1956 to 1967 .

politics

Eichinger was involved in the Christian Social Party and held the office of mayor of Hetzmannsdorf from 1919 to 1938. From 1922 to 1938 and from 1945 to 1958 he was chairman of the Hollabrunn district chamber of farmers and was a member of the Federal Economic Council from 1934 to 1938. In addition, he held the function of a member of the Bundestag between 1934 and 1930 and took over the office of Chairman of the Federal Economic Council from 1934 to 1938 and was First Vice-President of the Bundestag. He also worked as a member of the Lower Austrian Farmers' Union and was deputy chairman of the Hollabrunn cooperative warehouse. He represented the Christian Social Party between December 2, 1930 and May 2, 1934 in the National Council. In July 1937 he became regional leader of the Fatherland Front in Lower Austria. During the rule of National Socialism in 1944 he was imprisoned for several weeks for political reasons.

After the Second World War, Eichinger sat for the ÖVP in the National Council between December 19, 1945 and November 8, 1949.
