Johann Emanuel Ludwig

Johann Emanuel Ludwig , also written Ludewig (* 1758 ; † 1823 ), was a Prussian lieutenant colonel .

Life

Ludwig served in the artillery corps from 1773 and was listed as a casting lieutenant in the ranking for 1795. In 1803/04 he was the captain of fireworks and was responsible for the quality control of the Nothardt rifles manufactured there in the Royal Prussian Rifle Factory . Ludwig became a member of the Military Society , in 1810 a member of the Artillery Examination Commission and in 1812 chairman of the commission for the acceptance of gunpowder. In 1812 as commander of the foot battery no. 4 in the campaign in Courland , he commanded the artillery during the siege of the Spandau citadel in 1813 , then the battery no. 6 (six pounder) under von Bülow. In 1817 was adopted as a lieutenant colonel.
