Johann Georg Hellbrunn
Johann Georg Hellbrunn (* 1674 ; † 1753 ) was a German architect and council builder .
Life
He first trained as a mason and bridge master. Before 1724 he became the council builder of Altenburg and ducal builder. In these functions he erected numerous representative buildings in Altenburg and brought the building industry to a certain boom there. He combined the baroque style with the lighter, decorative forms of the Regency style . Typical of most Hellbrunn buildings is the central part with its gable and rich ornamentation, as well as the two side buildings flanking it, which vary in width depending on the purpose and financial strength of the client. He built most of the buildings together with the bricklayer JFA Rothe.
