Johann Gottfried Findeisen (* 1692 ; † 1759 in Dresden ) also Finteißen , was, according to Stefan Hertzig, one of the " busiest [...] master builders" in the time before the Seven Years' War in Dresden.

Life

He was a fortress builder and from 1723 to 1726 he was involved in the first draft as well as in the execution of the Knöffel School of Knights. In 1736 he was a member of the commission which, under Fürstenhoff's direction, examined the damage to the rear building of the Kollegienhaus, Große Meißner Straße 15. Findeisen created “his masterpiece” with the inn “Zum Schwarzen Bär” , Terrassenufer 9 in the Pirnaische Vorstadt in Dresden. Findeisen's work showed "artistic similarities" to the Seestr house. 6 , which was also built by Findeisen in 1737 for Legation Councilor Ferdinand Ludwig von Saul .
