Johann Gottfried Lucas (baptized on March 23, 1685 in Elberfeld ; buried on May 28, 1748 there ) was mayor of Elberfeld.

Lucas was born in Elberfeld in 1685 as the son of town clerk Gottfried Lucas (1648–1714) and his wife Katharina Teschemacher (1650–1727). His father was significantly involved in the negotiations for an Elberfeld city court, which is why he also held the office of city court clerk from January 1, 1709 to 1712. Johann Gottfried Lucas married Anna Maria von Carnap (1698–1740) from Elberfeld in 1716, a granddaughter of the former mayor Kaspar von Carnap . There were ten children from the marriage.

Lucas was a businessman in Elberfeld and was first proposed for the office of mayor in 1720, but lost this election. Before and afterwards he was a commoner of the city in 1718 and 1722 . In 1723 he was elected mayor, and in the following year he became city ​​judge of Elberfeld.
