Johann Gottlieb Beckmann
Johann Gottlieb Beckmann (* around 1700; † 1777 ) was a German forester and author.
Life
Johann Gottlieb Beckmann was born around 1700. He was a private forest officer with the Count of Schönburg zu Lichtenstein in the Electorate of Saxony and with the Baron von Hohenthal in Torgau and forest inspector for the Count of Einsiedel in Wolkenburg . In his instruction on careful forest management , he developed a new method of forest yield regulation. He was the first to base this on mass and growth calculations.
