Johann Hechtl (born June 24, 1957 in Neunkirchen ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and employee. Hechtl is the father of two children. From 2008 to 2017 he was a member of the National Council .

Life

After primary and secondary school, Hechtl attended the polytechnic course and then learned the profession of bricklayer. He also completed a course for foremen and foremen in the construction industry and then worked as a foreman. Hechtl graduated from the Social Academy of the Chamber of Labor in 1987 and has been employed as a clerk at the Lower Austria Chamber of Labor since 1988. In 1993 he passed the university entrance examination for law, in 1998 he attended a course in payroll accounting.

Hechtl has been a local councilor in Neunkirchen since 1994 and was councilor for health and hospital services from 2005 to 2008. In 2008 he took over the office of the City Councilor for Health and Sports. Hechtl is deputy chairman of the SPÖ Neunkirchen and a member of the board. Hechtl ran in the National Council election in 2008 in 8th place on the SPÖ state list and moved into the National Council with a mandate from the state list. He was sworn in as a MP on October 28, 2008.
