Johann Heinrich Unkraut (born April 24, 1758 in Brilon ; † September 18, 1815 there ) was tradesmen and mayor in Brilon.

His father was the trade company Caspar Heinrich Weed, his stepfather was the trade company and mayor Johann Hermann Theodor Lysen . His mother was Eva Elisabeth Lysen, widowed Wekraut, born. Jug maker. On October 19, 1748 he married Anna Maria Sabina Kannegießer for the second time, and in 1794 he married Maria Charlotte Catharina von Germeten from Volkmarsen in 1794.

Weeds held three-sixteenths of a stake in the Hoppecker Hütte , and he also had shares in other companies. As head of the Hoppecker Hütte, he had the casting of furnaces resumed after a long break. The entries he made in the Hüttenbuch in Hoppecke are a valuable source of economic and social history today. The pieces that were cast at the time bore the trade mark IHVK or HVK.

From 1795 he was mayor of the city of Brilon for several years, he was one of the first two mayors to be elected by the citizens' vote. In 1805 he resigned, the reasons are not known.

On the day of his death, weeds appointed his wife and four children to be his heirs. The widow increased the fortune through prudence and energy. The son Richard Unkraut took over the management in 1824.
