Johann Henrik von Schacht

Johann Henrik von Schacht (* 1709 in Copenhagen ; † August 16, 1780 ) was a royal Danish major general and most recently chief of the 2nd Berghuser National Infantry Regiment.

Life

He became a country cadet on July 5, 1723 and then moved to the Funen Infantry Regiment (Regiment of the Crown Prince) as an ensign. On December 11, 1730 he was Second Lieutenant and on August 24, 1737 Premier Lieutenant. Then he rose on August 5, 1745 to lieutenant captain, on May 27, 1747 he received the character of a captain and on September 5, 1747 became a real captain. On March 4, 1750 he was transferred to the Falster Infantry Regiment, there he was lieutenant colonel on November 16, 1760 and on September 1, 1762 major (third major). On November 16, 1763, as part of the military reform , the Grenadier Corps was added to the Foot Guard, the regiment was named the Danish Body Regiment. Schacht was transferred to the Oldenburg National Battalion as a commander on December 28, 1763. The battalion was disbanded on June 1, 1767 and Schacht put on waiting . On May 1, 1769, he was appointed as Colonel chief of the 2nd Berghuser National Infantry Regiment in Norway. On January 2, 1777 he was promoted to major general. He had to give up the position on June 21, 1780. He died shortly afterwards on August 16, 1780.

He was married to Marianne de la Milliere († April 27, 1761).
