Johann Hinrich Eitz

Johann Hinrich Eitz (born November 6, 1779 in Lehe ; † March 9, 1870 there ) was a German building contractor and member of the Bremen citizenship .

Life

Eitz was a master bricklayer and then a building contractor. Even before 1827 and during the establishment of the city of Bremerhaven , the Leh building contractor also carried out construction contracts in Bremerhaven. In 1820 he was involved in the construction of the Hanover harbor house and in 1830 in the construction of Fort Wilhelm . In 1838 he and Johann Georg Claussen (1808–1885) built the water pipeline from Lehe to Bremerhaven. His construction company also produced quick lime with a lime kiln . His wife ran the Beermannshof inn on the Leher market. Eitz also owned a country house in Lehe. From 1837 to 1851 he was on the local council of Lehe. In 1848 he was elected to the Bremen citizenship. He supported the school system and poor relief.
