Johann Imwolde

Johann Imwolde (born December 14, 1851 in Leer , † July 30, 1915 in Bremen ) was a German shoemaker and politician ( SPD ).

biography

Imwolde was the son of a gardener. He attended elementary school and learned the trade of a shoemaker. He later worked as an expedition employee.

politics

He joined the Socialist Workers' Party of Germany (SAP) in 1875 . From 1876 to 1878 he was a board member and from 1878 to 1890 shop steward and district leader of the SAP and SPD in Bremen. From 1876 to 1878 he was also the full-time cashier of the social democratic Bremer Freie Zeitung , which was no longer allowed to appear from 1878 due to the socialist law . From 1890 to 1915 he worked as a cashier for the Bremer Bürgerzeitung , the party newspaper of the SPD.

Imwolde was a member of the Bremen parliament from 1899 to 1915 in the 11th to 15th legislative period .
