The lion fountain in the tramline

Little is known about Aufmuth. Received invoices from 1742 show that Aufmuth worked as a sculptor on the new building of the Kaiserstiege in Frankfurt City Hall, the Römer , on the occasion of the coronation of Charles VII . It is mentioned for the first time in the oldest address book in Frankfurt from 1772.

In 1778 Aufmuth was involved in the extensive renovation of the Katharinenkirche in Frankfurt am Main. In 1779 he made the wooden pulpit with altar and superstructures ( pulpit altar ) in the Johanniskirche in Frankfurt-Bornheim .

In 1781 he was responsible for the artistic execution of the lion fountain in front of today's house in Fahrgasse No. 27. The fountain was redesigned and changed into a pump well in the 19th century . The remaining parts have stood the test of time and are waiting in the depot of the municipal building authority for reconstruction in 2015.
