Johann Ludewig (politician)

Johann Ludewig , (born May 21, 1882 in Bremen - Kattenturm , † November 16, 1962 in Bremerhaven ) was a German locksmith and politician ( SPD ).

biography

Ludewig attended elementary school in Kattenturm. He trained as a locksmith and then worked as a locksmith and plumber.

He had been a member of the SPD and its trade union since 1903. From 1919 to 1922 he was in the USPD . In 1919/20 he was a member of the Bremen National Assembly and from 1920 to 1930 a member of the Bremen Parliament . He was active in various deputations . In 1933 and 1944 he was imprisoned under the National Socialists .

Honors

  • The Ludewigstrasse in Bremen- Obervieland , district Kattenesch, was named after him.
