Johann Ludwig Backhaus
Johann Ludwig Backhaus (* 1715 in Gotha ; † 1771 there ) was a German organist .
Life
Backhaus attended school in Gotha and learned composition from Gottfried Heinrich Stölzel . At the age of 13 he was appointed organist of the collegiate church. He studied law in Jena . In 1740 he was appointed city organist in Gotha with service at the Margarethenkirche and the Augustinerkirche .
