Johann Ludwig Meil
Johann Ludwig Meil (* 1729 in Arnstadt , † 1772 in Ilfeld ) was a German draftsman, painter and sculptor.
Life

Meil became a drawing master at the monastery school in Ilfeld . He was in the electoral Hanoverian service and made several paintings, reliefs and fountain figures. Some of his work can now be found in the courtyard and in the Sondershausen Castle Museum , where he worked temporarily in 1769, and in the Arnstadt City Museum . The church in Niederwillingen has an altar by him that was completed in 1772. On the Postplatz in Nordhausen there is a fountain with a sea horse created by Meil.
