Johann Norbert Hinsberg

Johann Norbert Hinsberg (born April 7, 1856 in Düren ; † after 1918) was the hut director, mayor and member of the second chamber of the regional parliament of the Reichsland Alsace-Lorraine for the Alsatian Progressive Party .

Johann Norbert Hinsberg graduated from the Realgymnasium in Kreuzgasse in Cologne . He studied metallurgy for 4 years at the Technical University of Aachen and graduated with a diploma. From 1892 he was director of the Rombacher Hüttenwerke.

From 1906 he was a member of the local council in Rombach and was mayor there from 1910. From 1895 he was a member of the Metz Chamber of Commerce and the Railway Committee.

In the first (and only) election to the state parliament, he ran as a liberal candidate in the Vigy-Rombach constituency. In the first ballot, 4,818 votes were cast in the constituency of the 5,919 eligible voters. Hinberg received 2,286 votes , the candidate from the Lothringer bloc Barthel 1,672 and the Social Democrats 746 votes. In the second ballot, Hinsberg prevailed with 2,703 votes against Barthel, who had received 2,552 votes. Johann Norbert Hinsberg was a member of the state parliament until 1918.
