Johann Pieper

Johann Pieper (born December 20, 1903 in Greetsiel , † August 13, 1985 in Otterndorf ) was a Lower Saxony politician ( SPD ) and member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

After his school education from 1924 to 1933 Pieper became a professional soldier. In 1934 he was first supernumerar and in 1936 got a job as a tax inspector. In 1949 he became chief tax inspector. Pieper was head of enforcement, wage tax and agriculture for several years. In 1949 his right thigh was amputated and he had been an ambulance driver since 1952. From 1946 to 1963 he was chairman of the works and staff council at the Otterndorf tax office.

Political party

Pieper was chairman of the local association of the SPD as well as a member of the district executive committee. He was also a member of the sub-district executive committee, as well as assessor of the extended district executive committee and member of the municipal committee of the district of North Lower Saxony of the SPD.

Public offices

In 1948 Pieper became a member of the Otterndorf City Council. In 1951 he became a member of the district council and remained chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in both bodies for several years. He was deputy mayor and deputy district administrator. He was also a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament for the fifth electoral term from July 27, 1965 to June 5, 1967 and the sixth electoral period from March 6, 1970 to June 20, 1970.
