biography

Plüss was the son of a dragoon lieutenant. He worked full-time as a farmer, he also ran a small restaurant; around 1840 he was the owner of an oil mill . From 1826 to 1831 he served as district judge in Zofingen , then until 1838 as chief judge . In both 1830/31 and 1851 he was a member of the Constitutional Council.

As a representative of the moderate liberals, Plüss was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau in 1831 , to which he belonged until 1845 and again in 1852. This in turn elected him for the period 1838 to 1841 to the government council . After he was unsuccessful in the National Council elections in 1857 , he decided in January 1858 a by-election in the National Council constituency Aargau-Südwest for himself. In 1860 he clearly missed re-election.
