Johann Schonenberg
Johann Schonenberg († around 1423) was briefly councilor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck .
Life
Johann Schonenberg was a Lübeck merchant and probably a member of the corporation of dressmakers . He belonged to the corpse brotherhood in Lübeck and in 1413 was their elder. In 1415 he was the eldest of Clemens Kaland. During the civil unrest in Lübeck at the beginning of the 15th century, he was a member of the rebellious citizens' committee of the 1960s. After the old council was driven out, he was elected to the new council in 1408 , to which he belonged until 1413. From 1408 to 1411 he was the city's treasurer and head of the Holy Spirit Hospital . Since 1401 he lived in the house Schüsselbuden 16 opposite the Marienkirche in a central location in Lübeck's old town . The house had prominent subsequent users and went down in Lübeck art history because of the Fredenhagen room , which was later created by Hans Drege in the 16th century . In Lübeck citizens' wills he is listed several times as a documentary witness and guardian .

Individual evidence
