Johann Weber (pedagogue)

Johann Weber (* Bischofswerda ; † around 1613 in Grimma ) was a German educator . He was the fourth rector of the electoral state school St. Augustin in Grimma.

Life

Johann Weber was born as the son of a councilor in Bischofswerda. He first studied at the University of Wittenberg . In 1583 he was rector in Mittweida . He later became Tertius (third teacher) at the Princely School in Grimma around 1585. Around 1590 he became vice rector and finally he was rector there from 1610–1613.

He married Katharina Seiffart, daughter of the mayor of Bischofswerda Nicolaus Seiffart. He was buried with his wife in the monastery church of Grimma .
