Johanna (Blois)

Johanna von Châtillon ( Jeanne de Châtillon ) (* 1258 ; † 1292 ) was Countess of Blois , Chartres and Dunois , mistress of Guise . She was the daughter of John of Châtillon , Count of Blois, Chartres and Dunois, Lord of Guise, and the Alix of Brittany .

In 1272 she married Peter of France (1251 † 1284), Count of Alençon , a son of the French King Louis IX. the Saint and Margaret of Provence . They had two sons who both did not live long:

  • Louis (* 1276, † 1277)
  • Philippe (* 1278, † 1279)

After Peter's death, she did not remarry and in 1286 sold Chartres to King Philip IV. Blois and Guise inherited relatives from the Châtillon family .
