Johanna Köberl

Johanna Köberl (born November 30, 1965 in Bad Aussee ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and a nursing assistant . From 2010 to 2015 she was a member of the Austrian Federal Council and from 2008 to 2015 Deputy Mayor of the City of Bad Aussee.

education and profession

Köberl attended elementary school from 1972 to 1976, followed by secondary school in Bad Aussee from 1976 to 1980. She then moved from 1980 to 1981 to the housekeeping school in Bad Aussee and then learned the profession of pharmacist from 1981 to 1984, while attending the state vocational school in Graz at the same time. After completing her apprenticeship, Köberl did not work in her learned profession as a druggist, but began training as a ward assistant at the nursing school in Leoben (school for general health and nursing and child and youth care at the Leoben Regional Hospital) in 1986, which she completed in 1987 . She worked as a ward assistant from 1986 to 1993 and trained as a nursing assistant at the BFI Salzburg in 1993. From 1993 to 2009 she was employed as a nursing assistant at the special hospital of the PVA in Bad Aussee. In addition, Köberl completed an apprenticeship as a qualified Shiatsu therapist from 2004 to 2007. In 2009 she switched to the job of a clerk or to the medical secretariat of the special hospital of the PVA in Bad Aussee and is currently on leave due to her political activities.

Politics and functions

In 1997 Köberl was elected chairman of the employee works council of the special hospital of the PV Bad Aussee. On October 21, 2010 she was sworn in for the first time as a member of the Federal Council sent from Styria. She was active in the Federal Council as secretary in the committee for sports affairs and also a member of the committee for civil rights and petitions, member of the committee for family and youth, member of the committee for sports matters and member of the health committee. After the state elections in Styria in 2015 and the resulting new election of the Federal Council members by the Styrian state parliament, Johanna Köberl left the Federal Council on June 15, 2015.

She has been involved in local politics since 2000 as a member of the municipal council of Bad Aussee, where she took over the office of Vice Mayor of Bad Aussee in 2008. After the municipal council elections in Styria in 2015 , she resigned from her municipal political offices. Within the party, she has been the deputy district chairwoman of the SPÖ Liezen since 2011, and has also been the deputy district chairwoman in the Liezen district since 2011.
