The Johannes Nepomuk Chapel in Schönborn , a cadastral parish of Göllersdorf in Lower Austria , is a Baroque chapel built by Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt in the park of Schönborn Palace . The chapel is a listed building .

Building description

As an extension of the main axis of the palace complex in the direction of the village, Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt built the Johannes Nepomuk Chapel northwest of the palace from 1729 to 1733. It was consecrated in 1733. The openwork hood rises above a square floor plan on four pillars. It is decorated with flower garlands and cherub heads , is richly articulated and wears a crown.

In the center of this canopy architecture stands a statue of St. John Nepomuk on a sarcophagus-like base . The base has figural reliefs with scenes from the life of the saint and side lanterns on volutes.
