Space before remodeling

The John Paul II Square is a place in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius . It is located in the Antakalnis district on the Olandų gatvė ring near the Church of St. Peter and Paul . The square was named in memory of Pope John Paul II and his visit to Lithuania and Vilnius.

A redesign of the square in the baroque style was planned by 2016. The restoration of the former 19th century chapel next to the church and a monument (sculpture or stele) to John Paul II is another project of the Vilnius City Council .
