The parish church Heilig Kreuz is a Roman Catholic church in the municipality of Rußbach am Pass Gschütt in the Hallein district in the state of Salzburg . The church is a listed building .

history

The parish church incorporated into St. Peter's Abbey faces north in the center of the village. The church was built from 1859 to 1860 according to the plans of the builder Bergmann and in 1903 it was elevated to a parish church. In 1960 it was restored.

architecture

The simple church building with a slightly retracted, polygonal apse has a three-storey, third-storey octagonal tower with a pointed gable helmet in the south in front of the gable facade. The sacristy as a single-storey extension in the west is from 1960. The tower hall has a groin vault. The nave has a barrel vault and a gallery.

Furnishing

The high altar from the 2nd half of the 17th century was transferred here from the St. Vitus Chapel in the collegiate church of St. Peter . The altarpiece crucifixion was painted by Josef Ghezzi (1960) after a copy of the crucifixion in Salzburg-St. Peter Juvinat from the 2nd half of the 17th century.
